Our Featured Event: First Night Morris County

Featuring 80+ Performances at 20+ Venues in Downtown Morristown

For over 33 years, First Night Morris County has been an integral part of the New Jersey landscape. As we prepare for our 34th year, we are stronger than ever. We are proud to be New Jersey’s largest First Night and an organization of unparalleled professionalism set for a promising future.

Historically on New Year’s Eve, Morristown has become a stage with more than 80 performances by over 200 artists in 20 venues. Thousands of friends, families, and neighbors join together to share in the excitement. Our alcohol-free and substance-free performing arts event has been brought to life by our performers, many of whom are internationally renowned and offer our attendees a one of a kind opportunity to become a part of our interactive event. Our annual event is the culmination of our year-round efforts and highlights the impact we make.

Artist Entrepreneurship

Artists are Entrepreneurs. To be a Successful Artist and Entrepreneur, Artists need (at the very least) basic business skills and a willingness to approach selling art as any Entrepreneur would. For Artists who are serious about building a sustainable career, we have partnered with the New Jersey Small Business Development Center of Northwest Jersey (NW-NJSBDC) to provide the “Artist Entrepreneurship Program.” Thanks to the NW-NJSBDC, Program Participants we refer have access to online assessments, webinars, seminars, and one-on-one counseling.

Arts, History, and Innovation Initiative

The Arts, History, and Innovation Initiative, a cornerstone of First Night Morris County’s FNM365®, is a year-round program enriching the community beyond New Year’s Eve. It focuses on three key areas: History, actively cross-promoting local historical events and forging new partnerships to deepen our understanding of heritage, with an aim to integrate historical elements into the annual First Night event. Innovation drives workforce development through experiential learning for students and professionals in the arts sector. Finally, Arts fosters open discussion, creativity, and collaboration, recognizing the intrinsic value of artistic engagement across all initiative endeavors. This multi-faceted approach ensures year-round community enrichment and builds upon the spirit of First Night.

STEM Leadership Internship

To develop the next generation of Volunteer, Community, and Business Leaders, First Night Morris County has expanded our Volunteer Internship Program to the STEM Leadership Program. Students from Middle School to Graduate School receive Mentorship, Training, and Hands-On Opportunities to Prepare them for the Future. Our program focuses on STEM-Based opportunities, emphasizing Green Technologies, Data Science, Analysis, Application Development, and Architecture with separate training modules on workplace soft skills and leadership.
